OUR TEAMS
Women's Team
We formed our first women's 15s team in 2009. Throughout the years, the team has expanded rapidly and became the biggest side in Hong Kong with over 100 active female players. Notably, our women's team has achieved remarkable success in both domestic and international competitions. We have nurtured over 35 top-tire standard players who represented the Hong Kong National teams.
Men's Team
Gai Wu men's team made first debut in 1987 Blarney 7s and later on Gai Wu becoming the first all Asian rugby club in HK to be accepted into the membership of the HKCR. Nowadays we see a huge growth in Asian players across different clubs.
Japanese Team
Our club is strongly influenced by Japanese rugby as we have included many Japanese players since the early 90s. Many of them have settled in Hong Kong and their children are now also part of the Gai Wu family.
Youth & Mini Rugby
We believe talent development should start at early stage. Therefore, we found our very own U19 girls team in 2015 and continue to expand the youth division. Now we have 4 youth teams and 3 partnered mini rugby clubs: Monkey Rugby Club, Aberdeen Dolphins Rugby Club and Hong Kong East Rugby Football Club to nurture kids from
4-12 years old.
